Rates are fetched from ExchangeRate-API and cached server-side for one hour. The “last updated” badge at the top of the page always shows the exact timestamp of the current data. If the API is temporarily unavailable, the last known rates are displayed with a “stale data” warning.
The base currency is the currency against which all others are compared. By default, USD (US Dollar) is used as the base. You can click any currency row to set it as the new base — all other values will update instantly to reflect conversions from your selected currency.
The rates provided are mid-market (interbank) rates — the midpoint between buy and sell rates. They are indicative and for informational purposes only. Banks, payment services, and money transfer providers apply their own fees and margins, so the actual rate you receive may differ. Always confirm with your financial provider before making transactions.
